Linder Power Komet Shredder
The Ron Hull Group has just invested in the latest waste shredding technology - The Linder Power Komet:
The Power Komet is a robust, single shaft shredder suited for secondary size reduction to produce a thermal fuel RDF/SRF. The Komet is part of the Ron Hull Group of companies' Zero To Landfill Policy and corporate commitment , creating an efficient and eco-friendly fuel from the waste collections and recycling processes carried out throughout the Rotherham, Sheffield, Barnsley and Doncaster areas.
The RDF Fuel produced at our Zero To Landfill site is an efficient substitute to traditional fuels such as coal, but it is also frequently used alongside existing fuels, and the main use for RDF fuels at the moment is to heat cement kilns.
The Ron Hull Group is actively promoting further recycling to material received at their Waste Transfer Station in Parkgate, Rotherham and this is complemented by our skip and roll-on/roll-off waste collection services. If you would like to know more about our waste collection/recycling and commitment to zero to landfill green policies then please contact us or view our websites through www.ronhull.co.uk
The Ron Hull Group of Companies' corporate ethos has always been (and still is) "from cradle to grave" - well, we can now go one step further and are now proud to announce that we can now achieve Zero to Landfill through our extensive Waste Management and Recycling processes and close processes throughout all our Group Divisions.
We have recently invested heavily in a new site in Parkgate, Rotherham - consisting of a purpose-built building to house a state-of-the-art recycling plant:
The building stands on a 2.5 acre footprint, with a total project cost in excess of £5m. The plant processes 100% of waste we receive, with the capability to process up to 50 tonnes per hour - ensuring that we put our "money where our mouth is" when we claim Zero to Landfill Recycling targets are achieved.
A percentage of this waste is segregated back into its original product from a co-mangled state, which is then sent for further re-processing off site. The waste residue is then re-processed further on site into a Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) then forwarded on for recovery elsewhere.
Companies now looking for the complete waste disposal / recycling solution only have to pick up the phone to receive the 100% package.
Check out our Full Waste Collection/Waste Management and Waste Recycling processes or contact us for further information on how we can help your business manage your waste more effectively.

Rotherham-based Ron Hull Jnr Ltd, has just purchased an ARJES waste and wood pre-shredder. The ARJES shredder's primary target is to shred to size general waste, commercial waste, industrial waste, demolition waste and wood before it is loaded into the recycling plant for further recycling/re-use.
The ARJES shredder sizes all types of recycling items such as paper, cardboard, plastic and wood before it is recycled. The main feed stock for the recycling shredder comes from waste collections throughout Rotherham and the surrounding South Yorkshire areas - from skip hire material and roll on off waste arisings.
The ARJES shredder has been developed over the past 20 years in the waste wood industry and the general waste recycling industry and its twin shaft shredding action means that material such as shop fitting waste and genera household waste can be sent for more effective recycling.
Please see Ron Hull Jnr's Waste Collection, Waste Management and Waste Recycling website for more information on our recycling processes, or contact us for more information and a quote to find out how we can help your business recycle more effectively.

Like thousands of others Sean Haywood will be raising cash for a good cause when he takes part in the Bupa Great Yorkshire Run in Sheffield at the weekend (9th).
The ferrous metals recycling manager for the Ron Hull Group may not actually win the race but he will be turning in a seriously good result for his chosen charity . . . the Peter Moorhead Haemodialysis Unit at the Northern General Hospital . . . with a sponsorship kitty that currently stands at £800 or £129 (and three pence) for each mile of the run.
Sean (30) has been pounding the highways and byways of the area for the past couple of months to get in shape for the great day.
He said: “For several years my father has had to attend the hospital three times a week for kidney dialysis and the people at the hospital have been absolutely brilliant so I decided to do the run and raise the sponsorship as a small gesture of appreciation.”
“At first I thought that if I could raise four or five hundred pounds it would be really good but the tally sailed past that in no time. Friends, workmates and the company chiefs have all chipped in. Everyone’s been incredibly supportive. I’m over the moon about it.”
Speaking about his prep, Sean said: “It’s been surprising. I’ve always kept myself pretty fit . . . I go to the gym and swim . . . so I thought the event would be a piece of cake but road running is actually quite different to pounding away on the treadmill.”
“I kicked off doing three or four miles and took it up from there. I’m not going to be winning it but I would like to run in a decent time . . . or I will never live it down at our place!”
Ron Hull director Nigel Hull said: “We’re delighted that Sean’s having a go and raising money for such a worthy cause.”
“He has done very well on the sponsorship hasn’t he? A hundred and twenty nine pounds . . . and three pence . . . a mile is a seriously good result.”
“People are just amazing in terms of the time and effort they will put in to raise money for good causes. We’ve had people cycle coast to coast, in one case solo, and get involved in all sorts of projects to raise money for charity. I hope Sean . . . and all the other people taking part . . . have a great day.”
For further information or comment please contact Sean Haywood at the Ron Hull Group on 01709-524115.

The Ron Hull Group of Companies recently sponsored Guy Martin, who came 2nd in the Senior Race of the Isle of Mans TT this year.
In the post race press conference Martin said “I’m a bit shy of all this attention. I’ve hid in a lock up in the back of Douglas to keep out of the way, but there’s been all these people wanting me signing stuff. And then I’m out on the track and there’s all these folk shouting so loud I can hear them through my earplugs. I right appreciate it. Its crackers.”
Martin’s pace in the opening two laps were stunning and he held a 4.15s advantage going into the pit stops at the end of the second lap, but had only two seconds going out into the third lap.
Martin goes back to life as a truck fitter having had a great TT with three third places. This year's Senior was probably his best-ever TT performance and proved how competitive the Suzuki GSX-R1000 can be at the TT against the all-conquering Hondas.
Congratulations Guy, from all here at the Ron Hull Group!

Ron Hull Jnr are proud to announce their membership of the Wood Recyclers Association (WRA) - http://www.woodrecyclers.org
The WRA is an Association of member companies involving, wood processors, wood recycling specialists and consultants and recycling plant suppliers and is an active memebr of the Recycling Industries Alliance, which aims to tackle major issues affecting the recycling sector and is allied with trade associations in Germany and Spain.
Under WRAP auspices (the Government's Waste and Resources Action Programme), the Wood Recyclers' Association has developed a Code of Practice for wood recyclers, and together with the Wood Panel Industries Federation has also finalised an Industry Protocol for the verification of wood packaging waste recycling.
Ron Hull Jnr are actively working to these Wood Waste Recycling processing standards as part of our commitment to 100% recycling targets and look forward to our continued involvement in the WRA.
The Ron Hull Group of Companies continues to grow year on year - and this year is no exception! Joining the company as Waste Recycling Manager, and strengthening the already successful recycling team is Darren Jones.
Darren (recruited from the South Yorkshire-Barnsley area) can draw on his wealth of waste experience, both practically and in a managerial application. He is well known in the waste management industry, not just at home but in the outer boundaries of Europe.
Together, we can further expand our recycling business into a new age , using the latest technology and state of the art machinery, whilst continuing to actively minimise our carbon footprint.
The Ron Hull Group has also added to our property portfolio and purchased a 4 acre site with a 30,000 sq m purpose-built building to house a new state of the art recycling plant that we plan to install 2011/2012.
Ron Hull Jnr Ltd's Skip Hire Division Help Rotherham School’s Swift Recovery!
Rotherham skip hire specialists, Ron Hull Jnr Ltd. were called to Badsley Moor Junior and Infant school in Herringthorpe, Rotherham to hire out 40 cubic yard general skip/waste containers to be used to skip flood damaged items from the school to help them recover from a burst water pipe over the Christmas Period.
Ron Hull's Skip Hire Division swiftly responded to the emergency call-out and the school was able to start back after the Christmas break normally!
Ron Hull Jnr Limited - South Yorkshire's leading waste management group - are again raising the bar as the region's recycling specialists.
Rotherham’s largest and most innovative solar power generation system is to go live in the next few days/weeks.
The system has been installed at the Mangham Road home of Ron Hull Jnr Ltd's skip hire, recycling, ferrous and non-ferrous site in Rotherham, at a cost of a quarter of a million pounds.
The green initiative will generate 50,000 kWh (kilo-watt hours) of electricity each year . . . which is enough to power the average local house for more than a decade and a half.
The system will also result in CO2 savings of 42 tonnes a year.
Ron Hull Group Director Nigel Hull said: "We have been looking at solar electricity generation for some time and we decided to take the plunge three months ago."
"As one of the region’s major recycling operations our green credentials are particularly important of course, and we had a decent amount of south-facing roof area on works buildings that was doing nothing. It was a bit of no-brainer."
"The system has been designed for us by Durham-based Cleaner Air Solutions, one of the leading specialist companies in the field, and has involved mounting panels on the roofs of the three largest buildings on the site."
"The project is one of the first in the country to use an innovative new mounting system that has been designed specifically for use with modern roofing materials. Essentially there is no requirement to put any ballast up there, nor does anything have to go through the roof to hold the panel mounts in place."
Nigel added: "Fifty thousand kilo-watt hours won't mean that we are self-sufficient in terms of power generation but it will reduce our electricity bills – which is obviously welcome in these difficult economic and environmentally challenging times as it will reduce our carbon footprint by over 40 tonnes a year. 'Every Little Helps' as they say."
"Visually it will have no effect on the buildings whatsoever. The roofs and the panels cannot be seen from ground level."
"The experts tell us that, so far, relatively few industrial and commercial operations in the area have had solar power schemes installed and we would be delighted if our project prompts people in the area to have a look at this. Obviously we will be happy to share our results and experience with colleagues from other local companies in the Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster and Sheffield areas once the scheme is up and running."
The big switch-on is scheduled to take place early January.

Rotherham demolition company director David Wall has presented over £1,500 to Macmillan Cancer Support after a high speed dash across the country:

David and four friends biked coast to coast, 147 miles from Workington to Sunderland, in less than 24 hours – a day less than the average for the expedition. David, Commercial Director with Ron Hull Demolition, said: “The trip was something of a personal challenge for us but we decided that we should make it hard and do it for a really good reason.”
“People rode for various charities. I chose Macmillan for family reasons. They looked after my grandmother and I think they do a wonderful job. I have enormous admiration for them. The big shock on the trip was the hills, particularly for someone who had done all their training in Lincolnshire!”
“I live in the Isle of Axholme, which is about as flat as it gets. We’ve only got one little hill in the area and it really wouldn’t rate a thought on he coast to coast. In early morning training we rode up and down it 25 times in an hour.”
Gargill on the other hand was so steep that you couldn’t bike straight up it. We had to traverse. Just when you thought it must end you would turn a corner and it went up again. It felt like somebody was really taking the Micky!”
“Hartshead just went on climbing forever, five miles of it. Amazing ! On the plus side, going down the other side of some of these hills was breathtaking. The fastest speed that anyone clocked was 42 mph.”
David added: “I’m pleased the event has raised such a tidy sum of cash for various good causes. I would particularly like to thank Nigel Hull for the generosity of the company and their support throughout.”
Macmillan’s Sarah Herrett said: “We think it was a fantastic achievement. Ridiculous but absolutely brilliant! We are of course delighted that David chose us as his charity. The donation is very much appreciated.”
Far from hanging up their bike clips the boys are planning to do it again next year . . . this time non-stop!
